52 Week Challenge {adventure} | BLOG

“As a child, one has that magical capacity to move among the many eras of the earth; to see the land as an animal does; to experience the sky from the perspective of a flower or a bee; to feel the earth quiver and breathe beneath us; to know a hundred different smells of mud and listen unselfconsciously to the soughing of the trees”

This afternoon Mahalia & I went off for a walk together, through the “woods”.
As we walked hand in hand down our street, Mahalia decided this would could be our secret, special adventure together
{this fit absolutely perfectly with our weeks topic of adventure, so I was SO excited to see what this meant to her}.

We began with a daring bear hunt…. Squelching through the mud, jumping & climbing over all sorts of things…
Then running away, shutting our door & hiding under our ‘covers’
(she knows the story too well)
Then, to scare them away, we began ROARING as loud as we possibly could! IT WORKED!!!!!

Then our adventure changed, as we began picking sour sobs {the MOST beautiful flower to Mahalia}.
There we searched for monkeys & lions.
We climbed mountains.
We got on board a Pirate’s scary ship, & helped them on their treasure hunt….

Then Mahalia lost her ‘kitty’, so we had to say goodbye to the Pirate’s & go on our own  hunt for that,  the little kitty kept running away,
so after finding her MANY times over,
Mahalia thought it would be safer to just put her into her pocket!

To finish off, we danced like graceful ballerinas…

This all happened in the space of about 1 hour!

The mind of a child is wild & adventurous ~ innocent & FULL of life ~

We had the most fun this afternoon, & I felt so blessed to be apart of her adventures in the ‘woods’.
